Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your Siraaj account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your information.
Student accounts can schedule deletion directly in the app. Staff and administrator accounts are handled through Siraaj Institute so required academic and financial records remain accurate.
Request deletion by email
Email admin@siraajinstitute.org from the address on your account with the subject “Account deletion request.”We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request.
If your account offers an in-app control, you can also open Profile and select Delete account. Where that option isn’t shown, use the email method above.
What happens after a request
Your account is archived immediately: normal access ends, active sessions are revoked, and notifications stop. Permanent deletion is scheduled for 30 days after the request. During that recovery period, a student who requested deletion in the app can sign in only to review the deadline or cancel the request. Siraaj administrators can also cancel a pending deletion. After the deadline, the account and deletable personal data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
What gets deleted
At the end of the recovery period, we delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data, including your profile, login credentials, messages, submissions you authored, stored files, and push-notification tokens.
What may be retained
Because Siraajis a school platform, some records must be kept to meet the Institute’s legal, academic, and financial obligations. Where retention is required, we keep the minimum necessary for the required period, and it is access-restricted. This may include:
- Academic records (e.g. official grades and transcripts) required by education-records regulations.
- Financial records (e.g. invoices and payment history) required by tax and accounting law. Card details are held by our payment processor, not by Siraaj.
- Limited records needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud/abuse, or comply with the law.
If you are a minor, a parent or guardian may submit a deletion request on your behalf. Deleting your account ends your access to the Service.
